At which level of ATELIER should my child start?
The answer to this question is that there is a reasonable range of levels at which children can begin ATELIER and achieve a high rate of success. However, the following guidelines are provided to help you make this decision:
| * |
If your child has had little or no art background, the ideal starting point for each age level is shown in BLACK in the chart below. |
| * |
If you believe your child has shown little or no aptitude for art, select a starting point in LIGHT GRAY for his/her age level in the chart below. These lessons will be less challenging, but still motivating enough to capture his/her interest and to begin the development of an aptitude and appreciation for art. |
| * |
If your child has had considerable prior art background and has a good knowledge of the basics, you may wish to select a higher starting level in the DARK GRAY region of the chart below, particularly if the child is age 9 or above. |
| * |
If you have more than one child and wish to select a level that each will find interesting and challenging, choose the level that is most consistent with the age range of your children. For example, if you have two children, ages 8 and 11, either level 4 or level 5 would be a good place to start. |
